Men’s Formal Wear Holiday Looks

During the next few weeks we’ll be taking a look at some holiday men’s formal wear accessories. These will include tuxedo vests, ties and cuff links. Purchasing a holiday accessory is a great way to “dress up” you formal attire and show people that you’ve got the right spirit.

Christmas Tree Vest

Here’s the challenge of deciding to go with a men’s formal wear accessory that embraces the holiday spirit. It may just irritate, offend and infuriate the taste police. The Christmas ornament vest is just that type of item.

It is garish, there’s no doubt about it. Of course, it is openly bordering on offensive on purpose. The creator of this vest made very specific choices as to the types of ornaments that would be pictured on this creation. The red background is certainly festive and is actually a part of formal wear tradition. However, the ornaments are certainly very loud.

Same Idea but Different Look

More subtle ornaments, such as gold globes, would still keep the holiday spirit alive while creating a richer and more conservative look. Let’s face it—a holiday vest is a holiday vest and wearing one automatically goes against the whole black, white or grey hues that are a part of the traditional rainbow of men’s formal wear.

What’s the Intensity of Your Spirit?

If you’re going to augment your men’s formal wear with some holiday pizzazz, then do so in the manner that you want to. Be as conservative or liberal as you want to be. It is after all the most wonderful time of the year!
