Into the Woods Red Carpet Premiere

The stars of the movi adaptation of Into the Woods walked the red carpet at the film’s world premiere on December 8 at the Ziegfeld Theatre. This movie, which is based on the musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, is set in a world inhabited by fairy tale characters. We meet Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Jack, and more by following the story of a poor nameless Baker (James Corden) and his Wife (Emily Blunt) as they try to break the curse laid upon them by an evil witch (Meryl Streep) and have a child. The film also stars Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as her prince, Johnny Depp as the wolf, and Christine Baranski as Cinderella’s Stepmother. Let’s take a look at what these stars and others wore to the premiere.

Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep may play a witch in the movie, but she looked absolutely divine at the premiere. She even honored her character by wearing all black—pairing together a fancy black dress with a matching jacket and bag. Her dress was anything but plain, with an interesting, eye-catching texture that looked both comfortable to wear and complementary of her shape.

Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick, another favorite of the star-studded cast, joins this cast for yet another singing role. This time with an orchestra! She previously sang a cappella in 2012’s Pitch Perfect and fans were left eager for more! She wore a simple sleeveless black and white dress. Like Streep, her simple look seemed to be a nod to her character of Cinderella in the movie.

James Corden

James Corden, who took on the role of the nameless Baker in the film, looked quite handsome in his red carpet attire. He chose a classic look, pairing a black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt and black vest.  His knit tie was a great touch, and one that made his look stand out in a great way.

Emily Blunt

Playing opposite Corden is Emily Blunt as the Baker’s Wife. She wore a breathtaking red and black dress, featuring budding red flowers growing up towards her top, which was covered in full blooms.  The sheer top might be risky for some to pull off, however, Blunt's gorgeous figure couldn't have looked better.

Daniel Huttlestone

Young Daniel Huttlestone portrays the character of Jack in the movie.  Although only 15, he looked quite dashing in his grey suit with black tuxedo shirt.  He already has one nomination for his work on the movie, which is quite amazing since it's only his second movie role to date (the first was in Les Miserables, for which he was also nominated for a number of awards). While the film won’t be released worldwide until December 25, it’s already garnered a number of reviews and nominations.  But will its magic win over audiences?  We hope so!
