Footloose (1984, 2011) – Even with a hokey storyline of dancing being banned in town after a local accident, this memorable movie excels in its closing scene – glitter flying around and the kids cutting loose show the true essence of prom: having fun. Kevin Bacon and his predecessor Kenny Wormald (2011 remake) dress in a red suede suit and kick off the most famous dance sequence. Charlie awkwardly makes his way over to the dance floor in his boxy suit. Clearly standing out from the rest of the crowd, Charlie’s suit is definitely meant for an older crowd.
