Forever Fancy: Jobs That Require Formal Wear

[caption id="attachment_2249" align="alignleft" width="230"] Some professions require formal attire everyday.[/caption]

There are many different people in the world. Some people go their entire lives without ever wearing a tuxedo. Others wear a tuxedo once or twice for prom and their weddings and then never wear one again. Then there are others who get to don this dapper attire, looking their absolute best, every day.

Maitre d’

A Maitre d’ is the person in charge of assigning customers to different tables in a restaurant or hotel. They are also in charge of making sure everyone is doing their tasks and the whole establishment is running smoothly. Because the Maitre d’ communicates and interacts with the clientele, he needs to dress to impress in a way that reflects his position of authority. A well-dressed Maitre d’ commands both respect and appreciation. A formal tuxedo with a black bowtie and black vest is sure to impress anyone, no matter the hotel or restaurant.

Waiters, Caterers, Bartenders

In any well-to-do establishment, the staff will always be looking chic in the finest men’s wear out there. A well-dressed waiter exudes polish, proficiency, and professionalism. People tend to equate style with quality, and the better dressed the staff is, the higher people will think of the service and establishment as a whole. Even a simple a tie, bowtie, or vest will be enough to give a pedestrian outfit an extra pop that screams class.

Valet Driver

The better dressed a valet driver is, the more willing people will be to entrust their cars in the valet’s hands. Valet drivers expect to encounter and interact with famous or rich (or both) people, who will be dressed up in their finest. But that’s no reason why people shouldn’t take notice of the drivers too! A Valet driver can stand out and turn heads with a sharp tuxedo for men, creating a flawless look to dress up a regular day.

Musician/Conductor In An Orchestra

People pay to come see musicians play. It’s important that a musician gives the audience a great show from the moment they step on stage to the moment they finish playing their brilliant symphony. Fashion and style may not seem so important when musicians are creating soulful music, but the nicer they look, the more attractive people will find both them as a person and as an established musician.

Secret Agent

All right, so this may not be your classic, run-of-the-mill job, but it still requires a little style. James Bond and all the other spies and secret agents always look well kempt and classy in all the movies (well, at least most of the time). There is a classic aesthetic that is very distinct in spy-wear, but a sharp suit is always necessary. Spy chic must eschew excess extravagance (the point is to avoid detection, not attract it!) but that’s no excuse to wear sweat pants and a t-shirt. A well-dressed spy has class and shows a level of high education and standing, and that’s just the type of cut a spy should come from.
