The Hunger Games London Red Carpet Premier

hungergamesThe Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is here.  But before fans check out Katniss’s latest outfit, let’s check out what the cast of the popular series wore to the film’s November 10th red carpet event in London. This early premier was streamed live via Yahoo Movies around the world and can be found online.  All of the main cast were in attendance, including of course Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. Here’s a look at what they were wearing.

Jennifer Lawrence

The star of the series chose a sleeveless white dress designed by Dior.  The dress, which featured small black flowers across the top and down the left side, looked great on Lawrence.  She paired it with a pair of black sandal heels. She always looks good in simple gowns, and this one was no exception.  However, the small black flowers made her dress that much more feminine and elegant.

Liam Hemsworth

One of the two romantic leads in the series, Liam Hemsworth always turns heads.  His look for the premiere was a black tuxedo, vest, and tie over a classic white shirt.  He looked handsome and really seemed to enjoy the evening.  His suit appeared similar in style to the After Six Phoenix Tuxedo, which is a great choice for anyone. Josh Hutcherson

The other leading man of The Hunger Games chose a blue suit for his look. While he wasn’t quite as classically dashing as Hemsworth, Hutcherson pulled off the look well.  The grey tie he selected didn’t quite fit with the rest of his look, though. While his suit and tie were questionable, his black shoes were a classic choice and similar in style to Black (Jazz Oxford) Tuxedo Shoes.

Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks, who plays Effie Trinket in the films, decided to go big for the event. Her dress by Elie Saab looked like something her character would wear. It started out with a red floral print at the top and ended with a swirling blue ocean and clouds look at the bottom! The full-length dress billowed out behind her. Good or bad, everyone will agree there was no missing her!

Lorde

While she doesn’t appear in the movie, popular singer Lorde did provide the film’s theme song.  She attended the premiere wearing a simple, elegant black tuxedo pant suit. Her Western-style tie showed off her unique style sense, and looked great with the rest of her outfit.

Julianne Moore

Julianne Moore went with basic black for the night. Her dress had a mesh section at the top and somewhat translucent sleeves that didn’t detract from its overall sleek and elegant look. Her black sandal heels were the perfect shoe choice.

Sam Claflin

Finally, Finnick Odair actor Sam Claflin appeared at the premiere wearing dark grey pants and a burgundy jacket that looked great on him.  His mix and match look of burgundy and grey made him stand out from his co-stars, who mostly chose matching suit-and-pant outfits. Overall, the Hunger Games Cast looked stylish and well put together. We are now more than ever, excited to see the feedback from their opening weekend!
