The movie was written by Graham Moore and directed by Morten Tyldum.  It was based on the book Alan Turing: The Enigma, a biography written by Andrew Hodges. The movie’s cast is led by Benedict Cumberbatch, one of Hollywood’s most sought-after lead actors. Cumberbatch rose to fame in the BBC’s Sherlock, playing Sir Author Conan Doyle’s famous detective. Since then, he has appeared in The Hobbit trilogy as the voice of Smaug the dragon and the Necromancer; in Star Trek Into Darkness as Khan; and in 12 Years a Slave as William Ford. The role was originally to be played by Leonardo DiCaprio. His co-star in the movie is Keira Knightly. Knightly plays Joan Clarke, a cryptanalyst who worked alongside Turning at Bletchley Park, the location of the UK’s Government Code and Cypher School. She and Turing worked together on cracking codes, and they became quite close. Turing actually proposed to her, but he later admitted he was gay and broke the engagement. The movie also stars Matthew Goode, Matthew Beard, Mark Strong, Rory Kinnear, and Victoria Wicks, among others. The movie’s premiere was held in New York City on November 17. As one would expect, the stars were certainly dressed for the occasion. Keira Knightly drew eyes in her light pink dress that featured a large silver heart print. A thin bronze belt added a bit of color at her waist. The look was unique, and worked well for her, especially when paired with classic black shoes that complimented but didn't steel the attention from her dress. Leading man Benedict Cumberbatch wore a simple, stylish black suit similar to a Two Button Tuxedo with Notch Lapels. He added a slim black tie and shiny black shoes to create a classic look that he certainly pulled off. His fiancé Sophie Hunter attended the premiere with him. She wore a black dress with a green and blue floral motif that looked great alongside Cumberbatch’s suit. Co-star Matthew Beard wore a very interesting look – a white t-shirt, blue jeans, brown shoes, and a brown and blue-green paisley printed long jacket. It was certainly a very different type of jacket, one that not many people could pull off. There were a number of stars at the premiere who were simply there to show their support. Omar Sharif Jr. appeared in a black suit with black tuxedo shoes. While his look was on the conservative side, Keke Palmer’s was certainly not. She wore a sheer top that did nothing to hide her dark blue bra and a very short skirt paired with thigh high boots. People certainly took note of her, although not all the notes were positive. The Imitation Game opened this week in the United States; and judging by the positive reviews in the UK, we expect viewers will be highly entertained by this movie.
